Yes, it is often higher. Going with Prive/Virtuoso is better in that you are usually offered the non-member BAR.
If the price is the same, you can choose between earning 4 WoH or 5 MR on the stay with your CC. I think I actually value 4 WoH > 5 MR so it’s a loss in my case.
The perk difference is usually negligible BUT I do like having an agent negotiate upgrades on my behalf and I deeply appreciate the ability to have upgrades confirmed upon booking through Prive.
Overall, it’s never worth booking through FHR at a higher rate imo. The Centurion Hotel Collection COULD be worth the higher rate but only for short stays IMO.
