Stay Report - 8/20 to 8/22
Location: The hotel is located on the Rye/Port Chester Border just off the on ramp from I-95 and I-287 at Exit 21. It's about a half mile to the Rye Metro North Station and a little farther to Rye's lovely downtown. Next to it is a Home Depot which has a few other restaurants and stores around it.
Hotel: I lived in Rye from 1985-2005 and this hotel was built very early in my childhood. It certainly shows. It's a first generation Courtyard though bigger than most with four stories. There are some very long walks from the lobby to some of the rooms and there are only two elevators which are very far apart. There's an actual Courtyard still and a fitness center and indoor pool both of which are closed due to COVID. The Bistro is open and there is a lot of parking at least.
Check In: Offered either a $10 F&B credit or points as a Titanium amenity. The agent was friendly too.
Room: Pretty bad. I'd paid extra for a suite and ended up in a room that while of a good size, was in bad shape. There were gouges and rips in the furniture, the living room was badly lit with just a small desk lamp, the pull out bed was broken and we had to fix it before it could be extended, the bathroom is tiny and we only got a single bar of soap. The Wifi worked at least and the TVs are InterneTVs at least but over all it was not a pleasant experience. There's also no daily maid service.
I paid nearly $300 a night to stay here and unless you really want to be in Rye I suggest you avoid the place. It's too overpriced for how badly maintained it is and the lack of amenities hurts.
