I think it's pretty poor that the crew didn't anticipate that you might wake up at some point and want to eat dinner. Fair enough if you said no and then changed your mind, but given that they hadn't had the opportunity to ascertain this, they should be working on the assumption that you may want some food. To give all the food away or to be too lazy to want to cook it for you isn't acceptable and you should certainly try and escalate your complaint, hiding behind the excuse of Covid is just ridiculous at this point.
