And agreed, wife and I stayed at the Breakers a couple of years ago - prepandemic and pre-baby - and had a great time at the resort as well as bumming around the island. Hopefully will be just as fun with the baby in tow .. he'll be ~20 mos old by then so should be ok, we've just never stayed in the same room as him before. Last time at the Breakers we were there off season and they upgraded us to a suite with a separate living room which would be perfect for this trip apart from the fact that room is now over $2k / night! So yea, we'll see how it goes . Bonus is my parents live in Boca so it makes it easy to combine with a trip to hang with them for a few days before or after.

Also, if there is a a hard credit inquiry for the Platinum AU card does the same apply if she gets the Gold card instead? Am I correct that the only difference between the secondary gold and platinum cards is that the platinum comes with access to the lounges and hotel status .. but those would only be necessary if she was traveling on her own .. if with me I assume she could access the lounges as my 'guest' right?
Like Mia said, this is only relevant if you and your player 2 are under 5/24 and want to get Chase SUBs. Honestly, I would strongly recommend at least taking the in-branch CSP sub. First year annual fee waived and 100K UR for $4K spend.

I once had a friend visit and stay at the Imperial Suite there. Not sure where it falls on the hierarchy (and if they even paid for it or somehow got the upgrade for free) but it was incredibly beautiful. Either way, the breakers is a really nice place. You have a lucky baby lol! FHR there will also get you comped breakfast, a $100 credit, late check-out guaranteed, a room upgrade, etc.

For the Plat AU, I am honestly not familiar with how the hard inquiry works and impacts things. With you, she would have access to Priority Pass lounges as a guest but would not have access to Delta Skyclubs. Like Mia mentioned, Centurion lounges have complimentary guest access (2 people) for now but it will eventually require $75k spend on the card (not worth it unless you spend like $65k+ on airfare a year already).

You could also consider getting the MS Platinum eventually which offers a complimentary authorized user.
