I’d guess direct costs eg fuel and HC are reimbursed. But that the airlines need to comply with deploying the assets.

That UA is on the hook for an extra aircraft relative to AA/DL is a bit interesting though.

Edit: 777-300’s can carry decent cargo as well, not sure what is in scope beyond passenger movement though
