Eastern European countries prefer to stamp last pages for some reason, I had this consistently happen with various Belarusian and Ukrainian stamps in two different passports.
In the examples I gave, I was talking about such nonsense as stamps being wildly banged on top of each other, or at a random angle in the middle of any old blank page that happened to fall open, rather than any kind of peculiarity of preference regarding placement! I'm quite frustrated by this but I don't think it would generally speaking be a good idea to ask them to do it differently... so I'm holding my tongue for now!
