This whole nonsense is so annoying... why is it not international standard to just use passport pages in sequence, and to place the stamps reasonably close together? Particularly sloppy stamps have come from the Bahamas, Sri Lanka, any Schengen country, Morocco, Cuba and especially Chile, while PR China, Belarus and Azerbaijan to name a few are extremely neat and tidy.
Some countries prefer to keep all their stamps on the same page, which is why they search for a random empty page.
Eastern European countries prefer to stamp last pages for some reason, I had this consistently happen with various Belarusian and Ukrainian stamps in two different passports.
