Totally agree with this! The first time I visited Barcelona was in the winter and stayed at the W (I only mention this because just like the W in Singapore Sentosa Cove, it's really nice but really far away from everything). I think I only saw the Sagrada Familia in 36 hours.

I recently stayed in Barcelona for 8 nights before Valencia and really liked it! Lots to do and see. Not sure about winter weather in Segovia but Barcelona in winter is fine, with less beach time.
