What to do when a US Courtyard did not give food and beverage credit to guest
I'm a Titanium member and I know I made a few mistakes with this particular stay.
I booked a Courtyard in the US. By the time I realized that I had a reservation for 1 instead of 2, it was too late to modify the reservation online so I didn't bother calling to get it fixed (mistake 1).
When I checked in, I got a parking voucher for a family member that was staying with me (we drove separately), but did not think to add her name to the reservation at this point (mistake 2).
During breakfast, since she decided what she wanted to eat first, she ordered first and charged it to the room. After deciding what I wanted, I charged my food to the room, making sure that the total would be less than $20 (mistake 3).
At check out, only $10 was removed as a F&B credit and the manager said that I had to charge everything to the room at once to get $20 removed.
I had always gotten such charges removed in the past at check out so I was wondering if I have a case for the Elite Member Benefits Guarantee. For this stay, I didn't get any room upgrade and my key card deactivated at noon rather than 4PM despite specifically bringing up late check out when I checked in. Needless to say, I have been treated better when I was only a Silver years ago and am not impressed with this particular property's treatment of elites.
