Hyatt Regency Houston West - Master Thread

I saw another post in a discussion of the deflag of the Hyatt Regency Richardson that mentioned that a new Hyatt Regency is coming to Houston next week (August 25th)!

Website here for the Hyatt Regency Houston West (Award Category 1): https://www.hyatt.com/en-US/hotel/te...ton-west/houro

This is 100% a reflag of the Omni Houston Westside. Many years ago, I stayed here quite frequently with family - it is a very low and long 5-story property with an atrium and many tendril-like hallways (nice since most rooms aren't on the atrium, so less noise). The latest room photos on TripAdvisor were from March 2020, and I know the hotel was closed for quite some time. The Omni page suggests an $11 million renovation, so perhaps the rooms will be up to Hyatt standards at the time of the rebranding?

Regardless, I would imagine that rates will be pretty good here (opening night is $119), so it could be a good spot to sleep and get free Globalist breakfast.
