We were sitting in row 1 on our most recent flight, and the guy in the aisle seat on the other side did just that. He was a bit short and probably wanted some reassurance his feet were long enough to reach. For ten minutes while standing up, he was also halfway inside the flight attendant’s space, probably wanted some company in search of more self-reassurance.
