You should have no problem being re-routed on DL metal via JFK/ATL.

If flying D1, JFK is probably preferable for the TCON D1
All EU laws were made part of UK law under the The European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018. For now EU261 applies to UK airlines in both directions and foreign airlines flying from the UK.
