Just a little nitpick...you aren't looking at Long Island Sound from LGA airport. The southeastern end of runway 13/31 is in Flushing Bay which is also where the new DL terminal sits. The East River then covers the other water area of LGA by the northwest end of 13/31 and the northeast end of 4/24.

In other news...there is no longer a Shuttle check-in area at DCA for any flight. You are requested to check-in at the main terminal area for DL or proceed straight through security if you have a BP with carry-on only.

When I took this route earlier this year the upgrade as a silver was relatively easy. I got the upgrade before the flight and there were 5 more people on the list. 2 more upgraded at the gate.
