Route: LAX-DCA
Flight No.: 6
Departure Time: 12:45
Menu: No
Meal Description: Lunch - clementine roasted chicken breast with saffron rice, leeks, crispy kale, green salad with oil and vinegar, warm roll with butter, and a lemon meringue tart.
Other option: sweet potato and rutabaga risotto
Snack basket was offered about an hour after lunch service.

This was one of the best domestic F experiences I've ever had. Trish (or maybe she was Trisha) was an outstanding FA. Before take off she personally introduced herself to the F cabin, explained the menu and service, and thanked us for our business. She was highly attentive and gracious throughout the flight. No PDB but "water boxes" were at each seat and she took drink orders during boarding so they were ready as soon as service began. Before landing she again thanked us for our business and wished us well. These small personal touches really made a difference.

The clementine chicken didn't have a ton of flavor on its own, but with a little salt and the segments of the roasted clementine it was quite good. The bread was soft and warm and the butter warm and spreadable. The salad was crisp and the lemon meringue tart was restaurant-quality.

Because I was famished, Trish kindly warmed up a leftover portion of the risotto so I got to try that as well. Presentation-wise it wasn't the prettiest dish but it was earthy and creamy with a nice sauce to it. Overall this meal was leaps and bounds ahead of the normal slop served on legacy carriers. North of expected!
