I agree ... keep it simple, wait to see if your flights are cancelled. When it's so difficult to reach a real human at an airline these days, best to deal with things on the website. Assuming the website has correct information and is understandable. I've had multiple tix/cancellations/rebookings with United over the past two years, and the information is often not very clear. But I persevere because I know I can't just call UA and ask. When you do find the info you want and are ready to take action, keep screen shots of it all.
