Had a very good stay here this past weekend. Easily one of the nicest Four Points that I've ever visited. Even during Hakodate's incredibly short high-season, rates are incredibly low here (approaching "mattress run" territory) due to continued depressed domestic travel. Paid ¥5400 ($49) per night for a "cozy room."

Pros:
- Location. In heart of Hakodate, across the street from the JR and bus station and a block away from the morning market. Easy access to anywhere in Hakodate via the street tram that stops a block from the hotel.
- Good service and elite recognition. Provided 4pm checkout without having to ask. Sizeable complimentary breakfast (egg, toast, yogurt, salad, seafood chowder) with option to upgrade to the full breakfast buffet for ¥500. Friendly staff.
- Amazing bar (Estelado) on the top floor. Incredible views of Mt Hakodate at night and excellent drink options at reasonable prices considering the ambiance (for example, enjoyed a set of 2 Nikka whiskies with a small cheese plate for ¥2000).

Cons:
- Very small room size. Definitely more of a Japanese business hotel. Was upgraded from a cozy room (161sqft) to a standard room (194sqft) but space was still very tight. No real space to just sit and relax in the room.
- No award space despite ample room availability across all room types and a very empty hotel (although likely a terrible use of points for a Cat 3 considering current paid rates).
