I booked three nights for a long weekend stay next month and has been looking forward to the quietness of surrounding Great Wall area.

I am now concerned with a stream of terrible reviews on TripAdvisor.com. Bugs, insects, dirty rooms and lack of maintenance. I have been planning to eat at the hotel restaurants all three days, but the review indicates terrible services. I can deal with lousy services in the restaurant, but food needs to be decent.

Anyone has recent experience? I am debating whether I should cancel my reservation.
