Would it work to book a cheap ticket to get a residual, combine that residual with the other FFC, then cancel the cheap ticket to get a new FFC? Or can you not even combine a "regular" FFC with a residual?

Scenario one: have two $400 FFCs. Book a $100 ticket, get $300 residual. Combine $400 FFC and $300 residual for $500 ticket, get $200 residual. Cancel $100 ticket. End result - $500 ticket, $100 "regular" FFC, $200 residual.

Scenario two: have two $400 FFCs. Book two $100 tickets (one with each FFC), get two $300 residuals. Combine two $300 residuals for $500 ticket, get $100 residual. Cancel $100 tickets. End result - $500 ticket, two $100 "regular" FFC, $100 residual.
