I’m curious, how many of us actually visit a lounge at the arrival city on the day of travel? (Unless returning dame day?). I have a very few times over a great many years and at least at PDX while walking past C4 towards the exit have never seen anyone enter the lounge walking that direction.
Definitely not all the time, but I've stopped in lounges on arrival. Mostly for a quick snack/drink, usually when arriving later in the evening when it may be difficult to find decent food after getting to the hotel, etc.
And not so much with AS lounges, but I've stopped in other domestic lounges after red-eyes if I happened to have access just to get some coffee.
