Shinsegae to open first Marriott in Daejeon
Shinsegae Inc, the company which operates the chain of Shinsegae department stores in South Korea, is launching a hotel business later this year.
Shinsegae announced on Feb. 11 that it will open a hotel along with its department store in the science complex within Daejeon’s Expo science park in August this year. Daejeon is a large metropolis in South Chungcheong province of South Korea.
The hotel, which will go inside the 43-storey high Hanbit Tower next to Shinsegae’s Daejeon Expo department store, will use the name of Shinsegae’s recently launched brand, Onoma. Shinsegae entered the cosmetics business and introduced its Onoma brand last year.
Nice to see somewhere outside of the Seoul Metropolitan area or Busan get a luxury and Marriott hotel.
