Maybe they're out there, but IMHO, no hotel is going to be weighing pets. The whole size issue is all arbitrary and subjective by property. They're basically saying that they don't want people showing up with an English Mastiff or three. It's a game of cat and mouse between guests and hotels. If a property allows animals (like a HWS) people always try to push the limit on how many, sizing, the fee or any other LSOP rules on pet stays just like if you don't except (most HIS) pets then it's all about sneaking them in or trying to dispute a cleaning charge if you're caught, or trying to lie that emotional support animals have the same legal protections that service animals do (they very much do not) so the hotel has to allow the ESA.

Also, the hotel pet fee thing is a revenue generator as there is no real special cleaning that goes on after a pet leaves a room unless there is an intense odor or large amounts of fur/dander left behind. It's just a standard cleaning and then made available same day for the next guest.
