Yes I entered Spain at the end of June but only transited through there.

Then I returned to Spain in mid July and they did look for the QR code. I had to fill out a separate one because it was almost 3 weeks later.

On arrival at BCN, they sent you to these desks before baggage claim to scan your QR code.
