The layover in Toronto is only 1.5 hours and I'm a US citizen. Is it enough to clear US immigration? I just saw on Youtube recently that passengers on AC16 had to wait for 40 minutes to get off the plane after landing in Toronto due to covid inspection. My 6:30pm connecting flight will be the last flight of the day. If I miss the connection, I will be stuck in YYZ overnight.
There are line expeditors who work for GTAA and the airlines who will expedite your position if you need to make a connection. Also, airlines on the transborder side routinely delay push due to immigration lines. Now, whether the CBP thugs let American citizens in their own country is a bit more nebulous.

NEXUS/GE is not particularly faster than regular in this era.

With the flight reductions during covid, I guess the closing time is now earlier at 6:30pm as suggested by an earlier post?
CBP at YYZ still advertises the same times.
