Assuming you will travel in the next 2 weeks and you are fully vaccinated, your trip is doable.
Different story if the US will again be put in the Orange or Red Country list. In this case all passanger may have to perform a Rapid test on arrival. The test is performed on all flight originating from a Red country, and randomly for a flight originated from an Orange Country.

AF/KLM is very flexible this time allowing last minute rebookings and they have also improved their IT and onbard WIFI => last week I lost my connection because of AF. I was automatically reeboked and received all info (boarding pass and all other info) on the app. I also received a call from AF to check I had received the new travel plan and flight number. Luggage was rerouted without issues.

I would suggest once onboard you tell the hostess/stuart about your connection.I have seen many people connecting in Paris moved to first row seats in order to deplane first. It also helps if you have Skyteam status.
