When ever I do my YYC (via YVR) to NRT route our travel agent usually gets H class fares (i get open ended tickets is that why?)

Anyways today because i was feeling crappy (nasal congestion on a airplane SUCKS) i wanted to upgrade my flight from YVR to YYC but the damn NA upgrade cert is no good on H fares.

I need to purchase airline tickets again to head back to YYC for xmas, i wonder how much more my open ended round trip tickets would cost if it was a Y or M fare? or whatever cheapest fare exists so i can at least start using some of these NA upgrade certs.

So close to elite, and this lousy NA upgrade cert could have helped. Ahhh well.
