I used the same reference twice. I had a 3 day trip to the UK and ordered a day 2 test in plenty of time however it arrived on day 5 by which time I had returned to Spain. A month later I was back for 4 days and used the same reference, retrieved and then used the (month old) test on the new day two. No issues.
