Has anyone applied PlusPoints to a reservation and have it clear as a Mileage Upgrade Award? I can’t tell what has happened and will double check when I get to a computer. It says my United PS NYC to SF upgrade cleared for myself and a companion. However, the app shows it as a MUA and the PlusPoints don’t seem to be gone from the PP owner’s account. Miles don’t seem to be missing either (though I’m not exactly where I should search for this).
This is known to happen in case of a reschedule or other change to the original itinerary -- some sort of miscoding of the ticket. Sometimes UA will catch the error and corrected it, sometimes you might get a freebie -- very rare, but not unknown.
