This is definitely crap, but I wouldn't be surprised if many BD people thought like this. Technically, they are supposed to send the bag on the shortest and quickest route possible to the destination of where the recipient is, regardless of what airline. However, those three are not always fulfilled. I had a bag delayed in MAN overnight and arrived two and a half days later when they could have had the bag arrive on the shortest and quickest route to YOW on AC (ie. MAN-LHR-YOW). Instead, the bags did my exact routing, ie. MAN-ORD-LGA-YOW via BD, UA, and AC. (These bags were incorrectly tagged in BRU as BRU-LHR-MAN-IAD-LGA instead of BRU-LHR-MAN-ORD-LGA.)

My latest transatlantic, one box was destroyed in BRU and they popped it on BA and sent it BRU-LHR-YYZ-YOW instead of sending it on BD/AC via LHR.

Hahahaha... Who are they trying to kid? My box only arrived four days late, in a real crappy condition. I'm still trying to figure out if they put everything back in that box...
