I don't think Apple Pay itself would be problematic but that phone can be greedy. Mrs. HighOPS will try to use her Amazon slow shipping video credits by renting a movie at Amazon Prime in app and casting to the TV. Unfortunately the charge goes first through the Apple ecosystem and doesn't use the Amazon credits. It's an expensive not-standing-up-to-get-the-Windows-based-PC lesson every couple months.

Thanks for the input. My charge was dated Aug. 7, and haven't seen the credit come through just yet, at least the line item, but I think it will, as the tracker on the benefits page now shows the $17 (cost of my NY Times digital subscription) received. I'm guessing the charge posting on the weekend means it takes a little longer.

I jumped the gun and already changed my billing info. on The NY Times site back to my Amex card the normal way, instead of via Apple Pay, but I guess I didn't need to do that. Was just a bit concerned due to the electronic wallet language in the terms.
