Ok, guys as I had said a few days ago, I am planning another long haul trip in some months, something like VIE-FRA-MEX on LH F or BCN-MEX on EK J. I know it seems weird to compare these two but
1. EK J offers some pretty nice things that almost convince me it's better than LH F
2. EK doesn't offer F on the route to MEX which is why it's not an option.

My trip originates in Vienna, and with LH I'd only have a layover in FRA. With EK I'd just go to Barcelona 2 days before to chill and on the way back, which isn't an inconvenience for me.

With that in mind, the LH F round trip VIE-FRA-MEX would be around 4700 EUR, while the round trip from BCN-MEX in EK J would be around 3200 EUR.

I know the perks on the ground of the LH F flight are the FCT and chauffeur service to the plane etc. EK doesn't offer chauffeur service from the lounge to the plane but does from the city to the airport, which is already a plus although this is only available in Barcelona not MEX yet as far as the EK site tells me. As for the lounge itself, I tend not to eat or drink much at the lounges otherwise I won't be hungry and will be tipsy during the flight which is where I prefer to eat.

When it comes to the seat the LH F is on the 747-8 while on EK it's the 777-200LR which is in a 2-2-2 configuration (NOT the 2-3-2 on other EK 777 planes). I'd have a window seat anyway, and I hear this route isn't usually full so there's a good chance I won't have anyone next to me.

Although both flights are around 12+ hours westbound, the LH F flight offers one big meal and then the good "snack" options which are nice. The EK flight, however, offers one full lunch meal, one "light bites" in-between, and then one full dinner meal before arriving so somehow the food offering is a lot bigger on EK.

It is also worth mentioning that EK has a nice selection of wines and a Moet champagne, while LH wines aren't usually that special but offers a 2004 Pommer champagne. Plus, EK J offers a wide range of cocktails while LH F doesn't really.
