Being spammed through EBookers

I usually book travel through Ebookers because they have a reward program that works for me. Normally after booking I might get an email from the property explaining their services, and maybe one right before the stay asking if I want to pre-book a meal or something. In COVID times there has usually been an extra one about a week out from the stay reminding me of safety procedures.

I booked a personal trip to a hotel in Manchester UK (Hotel Brooklyn) later this year through Ebookers about 6 weeks ago. Since then I have received at least one email a week from the hotel that has come via the Ebookers service (i.e. not directly to my email), each one advertising events at other times of the year and even a casino that isn't part of the property. I feel like this is an abuse of the Ebookers system - no other property has ever used it like this in the 9 years I've used Ebookers. I didn't opt in to spam emails, and the only way I can opt out of them is to completely opt out of all emails from Ebookers, which would be extremely unhelpful.

Ebookers said they can't make them stop, so I phoned the hotel and, predictably, the person I spoke to couldn't help. I calmly told her that if it didn't stop I'd just cancel and book a different hotel.

Am I overreacting here?
