Hot Takadanobaba tip: there's a Japanese izakaya (pub) called Wasshoi on the west side of Meiji-doori, a little to the south of the station. A mug of real beer (not happoshu) here costs Y150! Unsurprisingly it's always packed with Waseda students. Not the kind of place to come alone though, so bring along some friends. The food is also pretty good (but normal-priced), especially the raw horse sashimi
