EDIT: AFAIK the arrival day is day 0. So if I come to England on a Friday and depart on Monday, there's no need to take the test? I rather can save the test when I stay longer?

there is an exemption related to transit. If you are staying Friday to Monday you don’t really fit within that so do have to buy a day 2 test, but don’t have to take it if leaving by the end of day 2.
