It's perfectly fine if you are ok with what the Moxy brand offers, which I personally describe as what happens when a bunch of boomers sit around a boardroom table and brainstorm what they think millennials want. This particular property feels a little more like a conventional hotel than some other Moxy properties, eg it has a dedicated check in desk instead of checking in at the bar. Your "destination fee" or whatever they call it turns into a $25 daily f/b credit, very limited food menu, only open 3-10pm right now, which floods the bar area with people so it feels either lively or overcrowded depending on your perspective. I was there on a Monday and Tuesday night and I only attempted to go once, they could not keep up with food and drink orders around dinner time. In non-COVID times I'm sure it was open for breakfast as well, judging by the espresso machine at the bar that got no use in the evening, and I probably would have valued the daily credit more in that case. Room itself is literally the size of a closet, makes a Fairfield Inn or Hampton Inn in the centre of Manhattan seem outright luxurious. For a solo traveler with a carry-on bag that doesn't want a desk or dresser, no problem. For a couple with two large suitcases, you're barely going to have room to turn around.
Moxy is still not a brand I seek out, and I typically go towards the limited service side of things because I don't value the frills, but in Downtown Boston I'm more price motivated than anything else. I'd stay again but only if it was the cheapest option.
