She is trying to work with the IC Boston to fix the credits, but considering their posted email addresses all bounce back as 'mailbox full' and I waited on hold for 37 minutes today before the phone disconnected with the hotel phone number directly, I'm not holding my breath that the Ambassador Rep will be able to get this one solved.
There's a difference between what Ambassador Representatives read from their rule books, and the way hotels decide to interpret those rules. And good luck getting the official verdict enforced

IHG has never run a tight ship when it comes to the application of benefits and brand standards. For them, it's like herding cats.

That waywardness can work in our favour, but the $20 nonsense is more frustration than benefit. I've used it for breakfast - OK, as a contribution to a crazily-priced breakfast, and been told i couldn't use it for breakfast. I've had it both refused and rejected for mini-bar fees, and told that it would apply to some hotel restaurants but not others. Yet at one hotel it was simply accepted as a $20 stay credit.
