Impressive effort by Japan's women's basketball team, but the average 15cm height difference was just too much to overcome. Pretty obvious by the 12 blocks by the USA, 0 for Japan.
They managed to keep it fairly close for at least the first half. If they had been able to shoot 40-50% on 3s they might have had a better chance, but it was tough, even at a distance, to shoot over the taller Americans. Japan had no answer for Brittney Griner (203cm), who scored a third of the USA's points.
Kudos to the American 40-year-olds who kept up with all the 20-somethings.
