Next up was the Sheraton Chung Tung - a new hotel near the airport - that we chose on a basic rate because we wanted to go to the beach easily. Effortless check in that took minutes with a super friendly staff who explained all the elite benefits. The hotel had reached out in advance and I’d booked my pool time already. SNAs rejected but upgrade room had a great view of the airport (which I think is the only view from here).

Lounge on a Saturday evening was unexpectedly not busy, served decent sparkling wine and spirits, and the food was good quality and satisfied us for an evening meal. Staff in the lounge and the hotel overall were absolutely excellent. Breakfast buffet choice was a lot more extensive than the RC.

Adjoining the hotel is a restaurant/nightlife area that we went to after the lounge kicked us out and made a thoroughly pleasant end to the evening (good that this exists because the hotel’s quite out of the way). An easy bus ride to the beach the next day. Because of the lounge, staff, and breakfast, we enjoyed this hotel a lot.
