Has anyone ever ask a restaurant if they can let you borrow their actual plates/bowls when ordering take out (perhaps for a deposit)?

For some foods such as Asian noodle soups (Vietnamese Pho, Thai noodle soups etc.), the experience is simply not the same when eating out of a take-out container (including the disposable plastic bowls they sometimes use).
