SCs aren't only for originating departing passengers or, to make the point more emphatically, the ATL SCs aren't just for customers who live in ATL. There are a number of flights that arrive into ATL very early and would have a lot of connecting passengers.

Especially after a red-eye flight, one appreciates a SC, for instance if one has slept through the "breakfast" served on board. Of course, it's nicer if the SC showers are open too.
