The thing that was abominable about YEG was the lack of services airside. One you clear customs, there is one of those "Toast! Café" places which had hot dogs spinning on metal holders, canned soup in a pot, one BBQ beef sandwich in plastic wrap, some celery/carrots/etc. with dip, etc. Followed of course by the nasty 3 hour stretch Barbie plane ride.

They really need a sign pre-customs clearance: "Warning. No Food or Services, next 4 hours"


I agree YEG needs to get some variety after Customs. I understand why there is some lacking because of INS regs, but they have such a small amount it is crazy. One thing people have to realize is that last year this time Edmonton only had 4 flights to the US and now they have 8 so it is just a matter of time till more is back there. I hope they do, because like you said there isn't much to do back there. I have never been back there for four hours, I don't know why one would do that but talk about boredom.
