I think the only way would be if you changed dates / flights to one not selling Basic, and then moved back. Assuming the computers will let you. So you best call or pay for the bags (that still keeps you as Basic).
Thanks CWS, if I change flights and back again there will end up being fees to pay for both transactions so that's not a great option I think.
I might just buy an extra bag... although family is suddenly rebelling about wanting more luggage and once I've added more than a couple of 23kg bags to a basic itinerary, we might as well have the standard one with all the extra/heavier bag allowances that silver gets... I'd like to see the price differential though, but it may just be that I'll have to call...
