We just spent a couple of weeks in Italy and while most of our time was spent in the Dolomites, we did manage to squeeze in Verona, Florence and Milan in between. We are fairly cautious and moderately risk averse but still had a blast. We dined mostly outdoors but also some indoors and reserving tables via email or The Fork was fairly easy as well. Went to lots of wine bars, ate tons of gelato and generally walked around the cities in the evenings and at night. I believe the twice daily gelato dose helped with not getting a breakthrough infection, more so than the two doses of Moderna

. We did not do many other indoor activities (museums etc) having done them in previous trips. But seriously, things were lively but not super crowded and I am extremely happy that we took this trip. As for public transportation, the regional trains were fairly crowded but the Frecciarossa and the Intercity trains had occupancy limits and they were quite enjoyable. The worst part of the whole trip were hotel breakfasts, which were mostly awful with service reductions, and I have to remember not to book breakfast included rates if this continues. I strongly recommend you take the trip and do things you are comfortable with. You will have a great time no matter what
