I had to go look at the reviews since it's our favorite hotel in San Diego, and I see what you mean, but...I don't think a lot of hotels did much maintenance during Covid, and even in good times stains and furniture dings don't bother me. You can't take away the views and location.

Despite the reviews, I'd still stay there again. Provided Tom Ham's Lighthouse is still up and running for dinner - great restaurant a stroll away.
