I don't know what lounge you were in at the CLL, but the Gold lounge there has no view of the lake whatsoever? The CLL lounge looks toward the ski hill. They save the lake view for the guest rooms, not the Gold lounge.
But, I've always liked the Gold lounge at Whistler. It has a nice cozy feeling to it, is well decorated and furnished, and never felt crowded. That lounge at BSH is far too big. Given the sheer number of Gold rooms there, I guess they need it to be big so there are no crowds or line-ups, but it just feels too big (well decorated and with great offerings, but far too big). One day I'll have to make a return trip to Whistler, but I just prefer the skiing at other places.
