I am sorry, I was confused.
I thought that, in the past, you could pay for any UA purchase with miles. That appears to no longer be the case (if it ever was). However, with the Club Card costing $525-/yr, you could pay that fee with miles and thereby save over 20K miles for your club membership, albeit by switching from the Exploder Card to the Club Card.
