I haven't stayed in an Andaz yet, but it seems to me that Thompson's differentiator might be a focus on F&B offerings (especially rooftop bars). It also seems like Thompson properties are generally more consistent in their offerings - each property is different but is also instantly recognizable as a Thompson, at least in the rooms. Of course, this could also be due to the fact that many of the Thompsons have been built and opened just in the last few years (some of their older properties, i.e. Gild Hall and Chicago, seem to stray a bit further from the brand median).
