Four round trips for me since the beginning of May. I have Global Entry which includes PreCheck and there have never been more than five people ahead of me in line for the document checker (ATL on a late Sunday morning); most of the times there were only one or two and once there was no one in line ahead of me.

Having PreCheck, I get to use the walk-through metal detector. Three of the eight time that I went through the metal detector, I encountered the "random" extra screening beep. At LAX I was instructed to go through the full-body scanner. I had a glasses cleaner cloth in a plastic pouch in my pants pocket. It must have alerted. I was asked what I had in that pocket. I showed it to the screener and that was the end of it. At ORD they swabbed the palms of my hands for explosives. At BNA they swabbed my cellphone.

At LAX and ATL I did not have to present a boarding pass; they simply scanned my Real ID driver license. At BNA and ORD I had to present a boarding pass in addition to my ID.
