Looks like they're doing what they can with this 1970s poured-concrete behemoth. It's so sad that in this era, when an architect was given an entire city block in a prime location, the most they could think to do with it was erect a monstrous concrete tombstone.
Still hard to believe this started life as a Four Seasons, but that brand was really just a local Canadian chain in the 70s, it wasn't the high-end luxury chain it is today. I mean the former 1970s Four Seasons Calgary is now just a Marriott, haha.
And yep, it didn't just happen to be called the Four Season Sheraton Hotel, it was a joint venture between the two chains, until Issy Sharp pulled out four years later and it was renamed. Check out the Wikipedia page I co-authored for more info.
