Good summary. I suppose the stand-alone "Hyatt" flag is transitional. I used to frequent two former members -- Hyatt Dulles and Hyatt Fair Lakes -- that are now Regencies, and one very nice former Regency -- Paris Madeleine -- that is now just Hyatt. I don't understand the latter move; it seemed fine as a Regency (though I suppose had no Regency Club? -- is that a requirement?). Let's hope this brand sticks around long enough to get me a Brand Explorer tick.
It does seem odd that the Hyatt brand is a bit of a pariah. You'd think that a name that's so closely associated with the broader group (since it's the same!) would be a bit more of a showcase for the brand rather than a form of limbo.
