If I were to take my wife to India on basically a one-way ticket, how could I reasonably get her home? It looks like the fares are $700+, which doesn't really work for me right now. I have Alaska, American, and a few Delta miles (90k?), but they have all told me there are no one way awards, and the availability isn't really there, anyway. I tried getting a One World award, but I am not sure I went about it properly, and I was told Cathay Pacific has no availability around my date. Are there alternatives along that line? Does anyone offer one-way awards for India-US? It seems silly to throw away so many miles. This is for mid-January, by the way, and I am not too flexible on the dates, unfortunately. Thanks!
